PLEASE let today be the day!

Well here we are on the "actual due date" of baby Mac. Joe and I have pretty much been sleeping for the last 2 days. Iwas up at 4:30 with a few pains but now I want to make sure that when we go to the hospital we will not be coming home empty handed.

Back pain has picked up again and as much as it hurts I am somewhat glad to have it. I'll try to give an update through out the day. Keep your fingers crossed that Baby Mac was just waiting for the "real date".

Sept 18th - "our ultrasound" due date

Well after a dress rehearsal at the hospital last night we were hoping for the real deal on Baby Mac's due date... the date that we have been following until a few weeks ago when the doctor went back to Sept 23rd as the due date. None the less we remained optimistic that today was going to be the day. There has been no changes ... the most exciting thing that happened at this appointment was the Code red that was called. So here we are on the 9th floor looking down at about 5 fire trucks making there way to the hospital... hmm do we wait for the elevator or take the stairs. After 3 minutes of waiting pregnancy and ADD kicked in and we took the stairs (ok..so there may have been some method to my madness).

So home we came with no happy news.. just strict orders to lay off of liquids because of my weight.. you'd think they'd be telling me to lay off of food. Well that is it for today. Hopefully you will hear nothing from me in the next few days and I can introduce our bundle of joy to the world. Until then please have some liquid for me!

Today?

Well today is September 17th and if this child is anything like it's mother it will do what it's mother tells him/her to do and that is to come out and play for heaven sakes! I understand most first time pregnancy's go over their due date but I would rather not hear those stories..so please refrain.. let me have my pregnant moment and disappoint myself!

Like it wasn't bad enough hearing the doctor two weeks ago jump back to the original due date of Sept 23rd. It's funny how you can work with raging hormones all day and not realize that you could be kicked in the teeth for such an obsurd comment. Imagine..the 18th to the 23rd. PLEASE! That doctor should be getting hazard pay!

The funny thing about maternity leave..

It's been 4 days since I started maternity leave and I am driving myself and everyone else nuts! I have rolled faceclothes and put them in a little wicker basket, rolled receiving blankets and done the same thing. All the while knowing that this will never happen again. I have been coaching Baby Mac to start making it's way out so we can get this show on the road! We'll have to see how well this child listen's to determine who the baby is like.
